Worried...

Carla has pretty much not slept in 2 days... she is all geetered out, grinding her teeth and refuses to close her eyes.  It doesn't matter what we do or say, she refuses to close her eyes and when sleep somehow does overcome her, it has only been for half an hour or forty-five minutes.  She should be sleeping right now ... it is 4:30 in the morning ... but instead she is eyes wide open and frigidity.  She is drooling and when I try to give her water she doesn't swallow it.  I just talked to the doctors and they gave her a tiny dose of morphine and that seemed to help.  We are thinking it is a combination of steroids as well as withdraw symptoms.  It is really hard to see her like this, it's like she is psychotic.  And, on top of that, she still has some serious junk that she has been having to cough up...  So, we are far from being out of the woods here.  Please pray that Carla gets to start feeling more like herself and that she heals up perfectly.

Love, Jen

Oh so sorry she is not sleeping well.
Sure sounds like withdrawal of meds, anxiety and noise of the Hospital, and getting used to her new beating heart full of energy she is not used to.
I read about someone else having similar symptoms after transplant and after all the drugs wore off they were fine.
Try reading stories and slow soft music to relax her.
Prayers continue!

We are still praying. I remember Alison going into "ICUpsycosis" everything was turned upside down. These are some of the more difficult times to go through. Stay strong!!!!
