A Perfect Heart...

We got the call last night at 8:39, about 30 seconds after finishing up our nightly prayers.  Pam, the transplant coordinator said that our wait is over and that we have a perfect heart for Carla.  And by perfect I mean perfect.  There are NO antibody matches with this heart, not even any of her less powerful antibodies!  Which means her body will not have an avenue to start attacking the new organ right away.  This is amazing news and is also exactly what we have been waiting for and exactly why we listed her when we did.  Carla is 100% healthy, she is getting a perfect heart and her chances are now much better than they would have been if she would have been sick and having to take any heart.

Thank you God for answering our prayers.  Thank you to the donor family for giving our baby girl the gift of life, when you are losing your precious child.  We couldn't be more grateful.

Now, as we wait for the doctors to come and get our brave little Nukum Toot, this is all becoming more real.  I will keep everyone updated as we go through this very long day.

Thank you for your  prayers...

Love, Jen

I have followed your blog for some time now (friend of a friend of a friend, etc.). I just wanted to tell you that my prayers are coming your way today. May God guide the surgeon's hands, and may Carla do well in all regards. And may your family be blessed. I'm so happy for Carla.
