The week of the 4th...

The week of the 4th started with Cody showing up and surprising Carla and I with his arrival Sunday afternoon.  Bobby knew he was coming but can keep a secret pretty well :)  I actually had a feeling Cody was coming, and hoped that he would, so it was awesome that he actually showed up.

Monday our friends Jeff & Jessica and their baby, Ryder, came to celebrate the 4th with us.  They arrived Monday around 11:00 p.m.  We stayed up and visited until around 1:00 a.m. and then got up on Tuesday, ready for an adventure.  Tuesday we made our way to Kerry park, so that they could see the amazing view from there.  Then we made our way down to the waterfront, had lunch on the cafe side of Elliots, walked Pier 56, went to the arcade, bought and ate ice cream and then the boys went to the baseball game while Jessica, Ryder, Carla and I came home.  We only had one slight malfunction that involved Bobby having the key to the apartment and us having to go back to Sea town, meet him at the ball park and retrieve the key.  It was about an hour out of our life but honestly, it was pretty funny.  After the game we ordered Domino's Pizza and visited until about midnight.

On the 4th of July we BBQed up a tasty meal, visited and eventually made our way to the local park to watch the fireworks.  Being from Cascade, we are extremely spoiled when it comes to fireworks.  Sooooo... even though Seattle puts on a great show, they were a little lack luster compared to what we are used to.  At home, the town fireworks are set off 2 blocks from our house, and the fireworks that the Gates family sets off in the lot next door to our house compete with the town fireworks.  So, we usually have a show that beats all shows.  Carla said, "I'm bored.  This is like watching fireworks on TV."  But, it is what it is and we had a great time nonetheless.

This morning Cody took off around 7:30 and Jeff & Jess left shortly thereafter.  Bobby, Carla and I went grocery shopping and now I have to conjure up the energy to put my wreck of an apartment back together.  We sure did have a lot of fun with our friends and family though.  And, I can't even begin to describe how nice it was to have Our little Wright family back together, if even for a couple of days.  Honestly, we even slept better with Cody here.  Weird how that is.  Carla cried when Cody left this morning, and told him to come back again soon.  It was pretty heart breaking.

In other news, I tried to change the family picture on the header of the blog last night and inadvertently ended up having to change EVERYTHING.  I went to bed thinking..."I ruined my blog!"  But, this morning was able to put it back together I think it looks pretty alright :)  It had been the same for so long, so this will take some getting used to.  I do love the new header picture though :)

Here are the pictures from our adventures the past couple of days.

Love and God Bless,  Jen
