The other day when I was in the shower a little girl, whose name shall remain unmentioned, got into my blush and made herself up like a clown. This was the prefect opportunity to START explaining the purpose of make-up....it is to accentuate your beauty...not to make you look like a clown. At this point we washed all the blush off of her face and I gave her a make-over. Powder, blush, lip gloss, eye shadow and mascara included. As you can imagine, as soon as I put the mascara on, her hand went directly up to her eye and smeared mascara all over her cheek :) But we got it cleaned up. She was so very pleased when we were done. And looked very beautiful. I think if we let her, little Miss Carla Tootie would be a beauty pageant participant. She is THE MOST girly girl you would ever want to meet.
Carla LOVES anything beautiful and takes very good care of her Minnie as well as her Princess Tianna Barbie....she has to tuck them in every night before she is willing to go to bed. Another thing she is, is very stubborn! Holy Cow! Getting Carla to change her mind when she is determined about something is quite the trick. When Cody was little all you would have to do is raise your voice or if worst came to worst a quick swat on the bum would make him change his evil ways. We have found that scolding, a swat on the bum, and time-outs don't even phase little Miss Carla. What I have found is that if I take away WHATEVER it is that she is currently attached to...the white board on the fridge; Minnie; Tianna, etc. she is more willing to cooperate. The trick is thinking of something (on the fly) that would be sufficient enough of a punishment to make her mind. It is quite tricky.
While at the store the other day, I figured out that if we played red light, green light I could get her to STOP running like a crazy person. Always keeping me on my toes.
As far as her health goes, Carla started her ritual Sunday night cough again last night. Here's to hoping that it goes away quickly. I am still confident that she is getting better, because she is so full of P&V as well as her coloring is very good. In one week and a day we will get the official results from Dr. Ruggerie. Here's to hoping and praying that she is better.
Here are some cute pictures from Carla's make-over day.
