4th of July & Cardio Apt.

We had a very fun 4th of July weekend. Bobby and Cody played in the town softball tournament and then we had friends and family over for fireworks. This was the first year that Carla got to experience fireworks, so that was really cool for her. Our town puts on a spectacular show and our house is positioned perfectly to watch it all from our driveway. Talk about spoiled. This is most definitely the best place I could ever want to be for the 4th of July.

Last night at 1:00 a.m. Carla started coughing again... 3 days on 3 days off seems to be her coughing cycle. Around 3:40 a.m. she woke up to use the bathroom and it hit me that we had a cardiologist appointment this morning at 9:00 a.m. Dr. Ruggerie is not convinced that the cough is pleural effusion related, so told us to have her take 1/4 of a Zyrtek every day for 5 days and see how that works. As far as her chest x-ray went, she once again has fluid on her right lung...it looked a little less to me than before, but I'm not sure. It for sure is less than it was in May though, so I'm hoping that means the low fat diet is working. Her oxygen level was at 89, and her weight was 30.6. Her coumadin level was at 2.2, which is right where he wants her to be, so that is great. We will just continue to pray that Carla's thoracic duct heals and that her pleural effusion goes away and never returns! Love, Jen

Watching Softball Friday night.

Cody, hanging out in the cotton field...no wonder his allergies were terrible this weekend!

That's right baby! Home Run!!! Go Cody!

Strutting home....

Bobby, out in center field.

Papa & Carla :)

Daddy & Carla :)

My boys, playing ball.

Bobby gets a hit.
Cody and his sweet girlfriend Sydney, holding Carla. Carla couldn't get enough of Sydney this weekend...looks like she has won the hearts of both of our kids.

Getting ready to watch the fireworks!

Here we are with Carla's Papa & Grandma Wright.

Watching her first firework (I'm not sure which show was better, the fireworks or watching Carla watch the fireworks).

Happy 4th of July! :)
