Cardio appointment

We went to see Dr. Ruggerie this morning.  Carla was such a big girl and didn't mind her visit to the doctor whatsoever!  She held out her arm to have her blood pressure taken, lifted her shirt so that nurse Tammy and Dr. R. could listen to her heart and lungs, and held very still for the pulse ox machine to get a reading...which took a while!  Carla's oxygen saturation level was 89% !  Which means that she will no longer need to be on oxygen at home!  Woo hoo!  Her poor little sore face is thrilled to not have anything taped it!  When we went over to x-ray Carla's big girl attitude carried over.  She stood exactly how the technicians wanted her to so that they could get good pictures of her lungs and everyone was very impressed with her. She got 2 suckers and a sticker for her x-ray troubles....  Carla's lungs look the same, but the doctor said not to worry because it can take weeks for a plural effusion to get better.  We will see them again on March 24th.  Love, Jen

I came across your blog today. Great to hear about Carla's sat levels, thats awesome. I have a 2 year old daughter, Cassidy, who was born with Tetralogy of Fallot w/ PA & MAPCA’s.
I think blogs are a great way to get the word about about CHD’s and I commend you for what you’re doing.
My wife and I are also on a mission to spread the word about CHD’s. We just started a jewelry company called Lucky 10. All of our products are handmade and pertain to Heart Defects and the Heart Community in general.
Please check out our site when you get a moment. If you could help us get the word out about our new business we would be very grateful. It’s a project that’s very dear to our hearts.
Thanks so much and we look forward to reading more on your blog!
